The London FTSE stock exchange took quite a hit as 60 billion GBP vanished from sight, and as I write this blog US futures today are at a very ominious -560.  Basically the world is having pre-shivers on the state of the global economy and its current world reserve currency, the US dollar. 

There is very little confidence in the Bush plan unveiled last Friday giving tax rebates to US consumers, is mainly seen as an act of desparation.  China also as a major supporter of the US dollar is expected to write down losses of over 1 billion dollars due to the subprime lending debacle. 

As this is all hitting the collective consciousness, it is not surprising that the stars are reflecting the sharp pangs of fear throughout the global economy.  There is a unique line-up of malefic planets: the Sun is exactly bisecting Mars and Saturn in the sky today. 

Further, the angle formed in this bisection are exact biquintiles (144 degrees).  The Sun exactly biquintiles Mars and Saturn, which are both experienceing a quintile aspect of 72 degrees.  This fifth harmonic pattern formed by the planets is based on divisions of the circle of ecliptic by multiples of 5.  That is, 144 is 2/5 of 360, and 72 is 1/5 of 360.  The graphic below is a partial chart of Jan 21, 2008:

One of my favorite astrology books, The Combination of Stellar Influences , refers to this particular combination of planets as "...weak vitality, the inability to meet all demands or to master all situations..."

Tomorrow, when the US stock market opens after its Martin Luther King Day holiday, it will be afflicted by the conjunction of Mercury and Neptune. This will most certainly have the effect of producing false, misleading, or abjectly delusory perceptions of the state of affairs.  The US stock market of course has its Plunge Protection Team as its ace in the whole, which either massively sells off stocks or buys them up to maintain the perception that all is well in the American economic scene. 

However mainstream sources such as The Financial Times, MSNBC, and others these days are no longer optimistic about the future of the US economy, the subprime mortgage meltdown of last year may be only a precursor to more corrections to an economy that inflates its money supply by 2 billion dollars a day. There are huge corporate debts running into the trillions that could break the bottoms out of our biggest banking houses.  

War with Iran seems inevitable, which most likely is going to affect the price of oil worldwide and further inflame an already divided world.  Bush may want to nuke Iran underground nuclear labs, but he has already nuked the dollar and our reputation. The "savior" however in the form of Democrat Hillary Clinton may be brought in to open the next chapter in US history.  Many people are now saying we may be heading into a financial crisis to rival that of the 1930's; but I imagine it could be much worse.  

If you want to know how the world really works, I recommend that you read a book that came out in 1992, "A Century of War, Anglo-American Oil Politics and the New World Order" by William F. Engdahl.   A very clear picture is laid out how British and American banking houses molded and manipulated the entire geo-political landscape to suit their financial imperialistic goals, and that governments are little more than extensions of those banking cartels.  I am only halfway through it, but it is an amazing eye-opener; and it speaks directly as to why the US in so deeply involved in the Middle East.  

The worst is yet to break, but I do see some light in the relatively near future.  More on that to come...
