Politics and Government

After some research and use of Vedic rectification techniques, I have made a rough pin-pointing of the actual birthtime of Michele Bachmann, and the chart seems to work.

Michele Bachmann 3Let me say first of all, that this is not an official rectification on my part, when I do that with clients I have a rigorous data-finding process that I go through with them. The case with Michele Bachmann is that there is not very much time- and date-specific information available in the public record. Take this information that I present for what it's worth.

However, I think I have latched onto something. Remember that I am using Vedic astrology with its sidereal zodiac. Vedic astrology is an art that lends itself well to quick birthtime rectifications. I have determined that Bachmann was born at around 4:50 pm, on April 6, 1956, in Waterloo, Iowa.

(Note: another birthtime has cropped up, supposedly 12:08, but whether it is am or pm is not specified.  The article in question is no longer available.  As I said there was very little time-specific information on Bachmann available without some heavy research, and I qualified my rectification as "what it's worth", but for now I am going to let this article sit.  Hopefully more info to come.  CB)

Bachmann's Sun, Indicator of Authority and Success

Bachmann's Sun denotes a type of faith-based activism with a real endeavoring for some sincerity, and a certain amount of assured success in life.  Her Sun is in the sign of Pisces, disposed by Jupiter exalted in Cancer, and her Sun is in the navamsa of Aquarius.

The Jupiter supporting Bachmann's Sun is weakened, however, by being very late in the sign (29 degrees,) giving Jupiterean blurs of distinction on subjects, forgoing necessary details in favor of that "wow" feeling that the so-called big picture gives.  However in the navamsa chart (a subchart of the natal chart), her Sun is disposed by an exalted Saturn in the ninth house, adding much more of a sense of honesty and legitimacy to her Sun.

Michelle Bachmann Astrology Analysis

I should say also that Bachmann's Sun very late in the sign, serves to afflict the expression of her Sun, her base of power and authority. Sun-dysfunctions in a chart can come out as a seeking to be over-domineering, seeking to compensate for an internal feeling of inadequacy. In the other extreme, dysfunctional Suns in people's chart can come out as passivity, which then sporadically expresses itself in unusual, uncharacteristic or inappropriate ways.

Bachmann as a Tough Customer

Michelle Bachmann Astrology AnalysisBachmann's Moon in Aquarius in the sixth house, gives her a real "in the trenches" aspect to her life, where she served in the machinery of government gaining valuable experience. Indeed, Bachmann was a lawyer for the IRS (a little bit incongruous with her political rhetoric) prosecuting those who didn't give their so-called fair share to the government.

Bachmann in effect was an "enforcer" for the IRS, which itself is kind of an enforcing operation of the Federal Reserve Bank, itself being sort of a loan-sharking organization. Astrologically this kind of attribution can be seen with her Moon in the "vicious" sign of Scorpio in the navamsa, and then her natal Moon disposed by Saturn in Scorpio in the third house, both of which have very aggressive connotations.

Relationship Issues

Michele Bachmann's husband, Marcus Bachmann, would be signified by her seventh house and the planets therein. Having the Sun in Pisces in the seventh house, could mean a spouse with a definite spiritual orientation, but the afflicted nature of the Sun and its disposing Jupiter, along with a debilitated Mercury could point to a spouse who blurs distinctions in favor of ideologies, or who possibly tends to paint their self in a way with is contrary to what they really are underneath, and who could be a liabilty down the road.

Livelihood and Reputation

Michele herself as a crusader can be seen with her exalted Mars in Capricorn in the fifth house and her strong Venus in the favorable ninth house. Venus is also in aggressive Aries in the navamsa chart. Mars for her is exalted and in the same sign in natal and navamsa charts, a condition of good dignity called vargottama; but it is still somewhat weakened by being of low degrees and in the twelfth house in the navamsa. This could mean that her drive to succeed is very strong and she will go far, but the motivations behind it all could be somewhat problematical, which could lead to problems down the road having to do with hidden secrets.Michelle Bachmann Astrology Analysis

If you use the Moon as the ascendant (chandra lagna), the rulers of the tenth and twelfth houses are in mutual reception, which again corroborates the idea of notariety based on ideologies or religious convictions, but that can be a political minefield to play in. Michele is known for her "gaffs" verbally in the campaign trail, and that can be seen in her debilitated Mercury in Pisces, which causes her to neglect the necessary due diligence with details (you know, John Wayne Gacy instead of John Wayne the actor).

However she has the raw audacity to continue on in the face of seeming to put her foot in her mouth, which you can see time and again on YouTube, but this very quality makes her very tenacious in pursuit of her goals.

Michele's tenth house, is flanked by benefic planets, giving good luck with advancement and overall success; called shubakartari yoga in Vedic astrology. However, her fourth house, signifying her early life, influence of her mother, and her inner emotional life (as well as her present day domestic atmosphere), has the opposite, being flanked by malefics, Mars and Saturn. Called papakartari yoga, possibly indicating some suppressed rage or anger possibly based on some experiences in her early life or with her parents, if she hasn't already resolved them.

Sometimes people with these configurations will tend to behave in a domineering or even cruel manner, or possibly have a warrior-like response to stresses. At any rate, such configurations can contribute to the will-power necessary for success.

The Years Ahead

I want to focus on indications for her immediate future, specifically during the election and run up to 2012. Bachmann seems to be in the spotlight and gaining momentum, and this matters regardless if you think elections are scripted by the financial powers who own and run the media, and who are involved in much of government operations already.

I would say that Bachmann has a lot going for her, and that things look good for her straight through Election Day 2012 and supposedly an inauguration on January 20, 2013, whether she could be the Republican Presidential or Vice Presidential candidate (possibly with a Mitt Romney or a Rick Perry).

During the better part of 2012 Jupiter will be aspecting her Venus in rulership and her exalted Mars, giving her a lot of enthusiasm and steam to move forward. Saturn will also be in opposition to her Sun and Mercury, and that would indicate the pressures and struggles of the campaign, possibly dealing with attacks on her character and other such troubles (maybe scandals with her husband).

The Vedic dasas (planetary periods) are not quite as good, but do give one pause to think that things are in the favor of Michele Bachmann for 2012.Michelle Bachmann Astrology Analysis

Taking a look at the big picture cycles-wise with Bachmann, she entered a long great dasa of Mercury in January 2010 (seventeen years.) Mercury is her tenth house ruler, and therefore she could be coming into prominence during this time. The afflicted nature of Mercury in her chart may symbolize her harrowing experiences in her public life, including mistakes and misfortunes. But her sub dasas during the later parts of the campaign look interesting as she enters Ketu (Moon's South Node) in June 2012.

Ketu is malefic, but it is in the positive ninth house of her chart and is disposed by a well-dignified Venus, she may experience setbacks at this time, but still luck will be on her side. The Venus-Ketu connection makes me think scandals regarding love or spouse.

Yogini dasas (not shown) look similar with her entering a long Venus dasa in 2010 at the start of her bigger political career, and then entering a Nodal sub dasa through the election season (disposed by an exalted planet). Narayana dasas look favorable, ashtottari dasas not quite as well.

I won't delve into the murkiness of the realities of the electoral system in America right now, but nevertheless, elections these days are more branding and marketing than actual leadership. Candidates these days are mostly spokesmen for their corporate backers.

More Western Chart Notes

Vedic astrology does not use the trans-Saturnian planets, and there usually is not a need to include them, but I wanted to highlight some of her western chart features (shown above, sidereal), which some people will surely notice.

She has three tight oppositions in her chart, two of them to the degree. Oppositions tend to show many features of the person's relationships, since they are basically in a first/seventh house relationship to each other.

Her Venus opposes Saturn, which can mean strained relationships or relationships that have a distinct age difference, and there can be a distinct repressive or inhibiting character to the relationships. Sometimes that repressed energy will periodically explode out in a pathological manner, and sometimes strange behaviors.

Then also Michele has the Moon in tight opposition to Pluto, indicating deep, intense feelings and emotions with strong compulsive or obsessive qualities, frequently sexual. So I want to point out two strong patterns here: one is extremely repressive, the other is extremely intense licentious, if you will.

Unless the person is a literal saint, you might speculate that the private life of such an individual encompasses more than is presented to the public eye. The opposition of Mars to Uranus doesn't help here either, causing extreme instances of emotional fervor, which can border on hysteria, as well as ertatic, unpredictable behavior. Such a person also has a predisposition to challenge the social order.

We can see then two malefic planets in the seventh house from the Moon and Venus, which could mean a very domineering, powerful, or even intimidating partner/spouse type of situation. This is not inappropos to Michele's husband, Marcus, who is very militantly anti-gay. Marcus Bachmann to me though, has a kind of Ted Haggard vibe to him; i.e. not entirely what he claims to be.

Why is this information relevant? It may be that there are compromising skeletons in Michele Bachmann's closet, and these are liabilities in her life that could be held over her in order that she be coerced into policies and actions that she otherwise wouldn't do. Bachmann is a supporter of Israel and if she started to waver from the pro-Israel track (which is strongly pro-war in the Middle East, but not necessarily good for the USA), she could be easily brought back into line.

Most prominent political figures have these kind of configurations in their charts, indicating that they are beholden to other interests not normally on the radar screen. They are conveniently malleable. This is a fact in politics; because candidates always say one thing, and then do something completely different. There are differences in rhetoric, but the actions taken always point back to a financial-corporate elite that always benefits.

The announcement of the assassination of Osama bin Laden was marked by a few significant astrological corroborations.

First of all it should be mentioned that bin Laden has been a tool of US intelligence ever since the days of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.   He was trained to organize the mujahideen resistance, which later evolved into the Taliban.  He was the organizer behind Al Qaeda, while under that same US supervision.  He has also been connected to the Bush family through business associations.

Astrology of Assassination of Osama bin LadenThis is not the place to discuss the real question of whether Osama bin Laden was a true enemy of the US, or if he really was a covert asset set in place to help inaugurate a very long US military occupation of the Middle East and to make inroads into the resource-rich areas of Central Asia.  That information however is readily available through Internet searches.

The announcement by the US of his killing coincided exactly with the semisquare of Mercury to Neptune, denoting messages potentially of a deceptive or self-deceived nature.  That is, the deliverers of such messages could have been knowingly deceptive, or they could have been self-deceived as to what their content really was about.

Posted chart is for May 1, 2011, using the sidereal zodiac with the Raman ayanamsa.

Secondly, the announcement coincided with the conjunction of Mars to Jupiter on the cusp of sidereal Aries.  This is a potent, impetuous, and many times philosophically-biased combination of planets, where the truth of the issue is less important than to what directions the issue may be exploited for the most expedient gain.

Astrology of Osama bin Laden AssassinationIndeed, instead of an end to the wars in the Middle East, the "successful" assassination is put in the light as a validation of present US military policy and chosen by the powers that be as the green light to pursue the matter to its conclusion.  The conclusion here is the "end of terrorism" which is very vague and open-ended in its connotations.

I definitely could go on and on (and if you follow me on Facebook I definitely will be), but suffice to say, the stars reflected a situation that could be very biased, deceptive, and aggressive in its characteristics.  In fact bin Laden has been reported dead a number of times in the nine-plus years since the attacks on September 11, 2001, and he could have been dead a long time already.   However, now it could be expedient that he be officially "killed" now, especially with Obama so low in the polls, and he can gain a second wind reputation-wise as a strong president.

Nevertheless, the military-industrial-financial complex that basically own and rules the US government are seemingly on a new, self-invigorated track.  And so history rolls on....

In the US here we are about to have our mid-term elections, a non-presidential election cycle.  This year polls and pundits are predicting major losses for the Democratic Party and probably losing control of the Senate and House of Representatives.

Some might point to an uninspiring first two years of the Obama administration to blame, others might say (apologists mainly) that two years was not enough to turn around the excesses and abuses of the preceding eight years of the Bush Administration.

To be fair I could say that the Obama Administration has looked very similar in form and function to Bush’s: run by Washington insiders and benefiting a small sector of financial elites at the expense of the lower, middle and upper classes of Americans.  The trend did not abate (but accelerated) of the vast open ended wars and the curtailment of personal freedoms at home; jobs and manufacturing continued to migrate to other nations, and foreclosures and the poverty levels continue to increase dramatically.

Every now and then you read about rumors that Obama will not seek a second term or that he acts bizarrely at the White House at times; but things do not seem to be well with the Democratic Party in Washington, DC.  Hilary Clinton, who supposedly could replace Obama on the Democrat ticket, was strangely out of the picture in the last week running up to the election.

If I take a look astrologically at what is going on; Election Day November 2 shows the following:

  1. Jupiter and Uranus are rather close to each other, which would seem to indicate a change is in the winds.
  2. The wide aspects of Saturn and Pluto to Jupiter and Uranus would also seem to push the envelope about how good the change is.
  3. Neptune will be making a station on Sunday, November 7th, which is removed about a week from the election but close enough to be of a delusion-creating influence.

Otherwise there is nothing astrologically that says “conservative takeover” per se on the day people will be going to the polls (and if you believe that voting tabulations mean anything or not.)  Indications do point to a tangible “change incited from dissatisfaction” influence, and possibly a not-entirely-deserved-swooning reverie on the part of conservatives from Neptune turning direct the next week.

Then I looked ahead to the date of when the new congress will begin its session and some significant things popped up.  The House and Senate both start on January 3 after each election.  January 3 this year will be highly significant in terms of astrology because this is the date of an eclipse of the Sun, and a powerful one at that as I highlighted in my book Mounting Challenges.

The exact date of the eclipse will be January 4, 2011, which I cited in my book as the final crowning influence of a series of major configurations that have been occurring for the past year or so; and which this eclipse will manifest its results over the next six months or longer.

A solar eclipse is a rather malefic (powerful) event because the Sun representing the light, energy, and consciousness of the spirit is temporarily “snuffed out” creating a lost-in-the-woods kind of effect, but ultimately it opens the door to new energies.  Eclipses usually punctuate the beginning and ending of significant worldly affairs, so it would seem to point to the 112th US Congress will be pivotal in some ways.

I think we have to keep in mind that the same financial interests who run and put into office their presidential candidates also do the same for the congressional seats.  The Republican/Democrat divide is largely an artificial situation, whereby both sides are so extreme from each other that they do not work well at all, and serve to keep a political entity supposedly closer to the people (a congress) in a constant state of polarized paralysis.

A real “democracy” would consist of more parties than just the two.  Today any independent party that manages to come up and be a contender has to deal with a system that is rigged to work just with Democrats and Republicans and usually fails.  It is a fixed system, and nothing really is going to change except for some reshuffling of the party designations of the positions and some of the legislative leadership.  The Democrats and Republicans do not differ much in what they produce, but they definitely have different spins on their rhetoric.

Each side has their unique straw man arguments; i.e. Republicans have extremist moral positions and favor the rich, while Democrats supposedly hate big business and are Marxist, etc.  This is good enough for the simplistic debate in the media today, and with an audience that is overworked and stressed out, surfeited in a steady diet of intellect-numbing entertainment and distractions.

However I am sure and I am hoping that a few true statesmen (and stateswomen) on both sides of the isle will emerge from this new election.

Nevertheless, with this US Congress officially starting business literally under the shadow of an eclipse of the Sun, it could be interesting indeed.  The fact that it is an eclipse does not create any good feelings in me either.  While there probably will be a White House against the Congress supposedly; a lot of key legislation may be coming down the pike having to do with any amount of critical issues: cap and trade legislation, privacy, bailouts and stimulus packages, and more.

The election happening close to a Neptune station and the swearing-in occurring at the time of an eclipse could point to possible problems with disputes, confusion, and errors in the vote counting process; a situation happening more and more these days.

Yes, it could be a weird one.

Also Charley Sheen’s Continuing Adventures, and The Best Kind of Foresight

As I had written about in 2009 and published in the ebook Mounting Challenges, January 2011 looked to be a culmination of the previous two year’s astrological formations, which we can see now in what looks like a dominos effect with riots in Middle Eastern nations: Tunisia, Egypt, and possibly Jordan.

Egyptian Riots Janurary 2011Events like these just don’t happen on the spur of the moment, a long-term series of economic factor are at work, namely austerities imposed by international financial authorities (the World Bank and IMF), along with the work on NGO’s (non-governmental organizations) such as the National Endowment for Democracy, quasi-intelligence fronts such as Twitter and Facebook, and speculation on food commodities, among others; and then of course karmic cycles as pointed to in astrology.

It is very interesting to see that the tumult in Egypt precisely coincided with Saturn’s turning retrograde.  Saturn has to do with the acute feeling of pain and suffering, that boils over into rage at times; and it would also correlate with harsh countermeasures imposed by authorities in response such as riot squads, water cannons, shooting of rioters, and shutting down the Internet, which have occurred in recent days.

You can never point the finger at one singular cause of world events, in my belief that they are both natural and synthetic; i.e. natural tides of energy and sentiment in conjunction with deliberate actions taken by various agencies with certain ends in mind.  Some people may think that my brand of thinking here is unnecessarily conspiratorial or even paranoid; but rest assured, I do my research.  I try to fall in the middle of every opinion and source that I read, and I try to take in the whole spectrum.

You could also say that Saturn’s recent change of direction sparked off emotional landmines in the psyche of Charley Sheen, which resulted in his latest pornstar-booze-cocaine binge this week.  Poor guy, some people just don’t handle stress very well.

To capsulize: events transpiring now of a global transformative nature such as the dominos effect in the Middle East, weather swings and earth changes, and increasingly harsh economic and authoritarian interventions, we have to look to the following events astrologically:

  • The opposition of Saturn and Uranus peaking in autumn 2008
  • The transiting t-square of Jupiter and Uranus opposing Saturn, and both square to Pluto and the Nodes of the summer of 2010
  • The powerful solar eclipse of January 4, 2011, which added the influence of the Sun, Mercury, and Mars to Pluto and Nodes mentioned above.

You could look at:

  • the sweeping into power of the Obama Administration (really just another face on the neo-con, corporatist regime that operated behind George W. Bush)
  • the escalation of wars in the Middle East into Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia
  • the multi-trillion dollar banking bailouts
  • landmark health care legislation
  • Operation Cast Lead
  • the Israeli flotilla attack
  • escalating tensions with North Korea
  • threats against the dollar by the Chinese government
  • the lifting of restrictions against corporate political donations
  • “quantitative easing” by the FED
  • The TSA, emerging police state, and government surveillance
  • terrorist attacks (as they are covertly allowed to happen or are instigated)
  • the attempted assassination of Rep. Gabriela Giffords, and the consequences of that
  • the Davos conference recommending even heavier austerities for the populations
  • and a host of other pivotal world developments;

….all of these are direct manifestations of the astrology of our time.

So I think a little self promotion is due here.  I’ve heard a lot of predictions over the past five or so years, from the Webbots, to earthquake predictors, to Gerald Celente, to Webster Tarpley, to Steve Quaile, to Alex Jones, and not a few others.  Some have had good hits, most not so good.

But as far as I can see, none of them have been any better than the alternative tools I used, which was major aspects between the outer planets and eclipses, and some type of balanced view of current events.  As far as I can tell, by the astrology, we are now in the peak of the energies of cosmic stimulation, so emotions are heightened.

It’s my opinion also that some of the aforementioned predictors should start learning some of the arts of astrology.

The effects of eclipses are said to be in effect from a month to 6 months, or even more.  As I endeavored to explain it in my book; this is a multi-layered energetic process going on, and the full effects of it probably will not fully manifest for some months and years to come.  Make no mistake about though, we are at the pivot point in history, January 2011.  Maybe something more will take place in 2012, but I can tell you that the “seeding” of what appears in that year has been ongoing for some years already.

Anyone who claims to have some sort of secret window into the future, is engaged in my mind in a little sort of self-delusion.  It creates a little allure around the ego that has some sort of “magic” about him or her.  (and take this from someone who publishes predictions on a weekly basis)

What is really important, is the here and now, how the stars or whatever modality you prefer, illuminates the present, and may point to certain outcomes.  But the best foresight, is always best with a heavy foundation of hindsight.

Vedic Astrology Look at the Chart of the Obama Health Care Law

Obama Signing Health Bill

Using a combination of Vedic and Western astrology principles, this article will be an analysis of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act signed by President Obama at 11 57 am in Washington, DC on March 23, 2010.

This law was “born” during the hour of the exact opposition of the Moon to Pluto, which denotes a very strong intensity, if not fanatical zeal to implement itself.

There are three planets in the tenth house in the sign of Pisces.  The tenth house is the place highest overhead and relates to those who ruler over us, i.e. the government.  Pisces on the cusp denotes an effort to serve others and to sacrifice one’s self in the execution of that service.  It’s no secret that the Democrats may pay a dear price indeed later this year with upcoming elections; the Democratic party could well have driven a stake through its own heart in order to get this law on the books.
