This week is Christmas, which is basically a Christianized form of a pagan celebration on the Winter Solstice, when the “Sun” begins its daily ascent higher and higher in the sky. It is like a new beginning, a new year; starting out as a child and maturing to fullness of adulthood at the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year....
While our minds have become numbed by the hectic pace of modern 21st century life, a deep long forgotten spiritual force is awakened nevertheless. We all share a primordial connection to the idea of the Incarnation of God: Christ, Krishna, Vishnu, Dionysus, or Osiris; and the names may be different but the story is the same: birth, death, resurrection, and eternal life....

Astrology for the Week of June 23-30, 2008
As probably the most astrologically stressed and developmentally pregnant week of June, this
could be a week to remember. So as Jupiter comes up to a minor hard aspect to Saturn on Thursday, June 26; the fire and enthusiasm that Jupiter contains will experience the “cold water” effect of the latter.
....To me the “battles” of life are “won” by rising above and beyond them; if I neutralize all fear and anxiety in my psyche nothing can unhorse me and I can accomplish anything I set my mind to in perfect aplomb....
It is not won by willpower alone, but the decisive factor is being able to enter into a state of mind not unlike that which Buddha did under the bo tree just prior to his entering into nirvana. He was unmoved in the face of all illusory images projected against him by Mara (the Devil), and then with a wave of his hand (actually touching the earth) he scattered Mara’s forces to the four corners of the universe....
